How to use the Trading Compounding Calculator
- Enter starting capital and the return per period.
- Choose the period (day, week, month) and how many periods.
- Optionally add a regular deposit per period.
- Review the final balance and the growth table.
Formula
Balancen = Balancen−1 × (1 + r) + Deposit
Example: ₹1,00,000 at 1% per trading day for 250 days grows to about ₹12 lakh — which shows why such returns are extremely rare in reality.
A reality check
Compounding is powerful, but consistent high returns are rare and losses compound too: a 50% loss needs a 100% gain to recover. Studies by SEBI have found that the large majority of individual F&O traders lose money. Use this calculator to set realistic goals, not to chase unrealistic returns.
