CGPA to percentage formula
Percentage = CGPA × 9.5
CBSE uses the factor 9.5, based on the average performance of students. For example, a CGPA of 8.4 equals 8.4 × 9.5 = 79.8%. To convert back: CGPA = Percentage ÷ 9.5.
University formulas differ
Many universities use their own conversion. Some use 10 × CGPA, others subtract a constant (for example (CGPA − 0.75) × 10, or (CGPA − 0.5) × 10). Always check the formula printed on your marksheet or in your university’s rules, and enter the matching multiplier and offset here.
