How to use the Resize Image
- Choose an image.
- Enter a new width or height, or a percentage. Keep “Lock aspect ratio” on to avoid stretching.
- Pick the output format and click “Resize & download”.
Common sizes
| Use | Size (px) |
|---|---|
| Instagram post (square) | 1080 × 1080 |
| Instagram story / Reel | 1080 × 1920 |
| YouTube thumbnail | 1280 × 720 |
| Full HD wallpaper | 1920 × 1080 |
Upscaling vs downscaling
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it larger than the original cannot add detail, so enlarged images may look soft or blurry.
Frequently asked questions
What does “lock aspect ratio” mean?
When it is on, changing the width automatically updates the height (and vice versa) so the image is not stretched or squashed.
Can I resize for a passport photo or exam form?
Yes — enter the exact pixel size required. If there is also a file-size limit, run the result through our compress image tool.
