How to use the Caption Character Counter
- Type or paste your caption or post.
- Green bars are within the limit; red means the text is too long for that platform.
- Check the hashtag and mention counts before posting.

Feeds cut long captions short: Instagram shows roughly the first 125 characters before “more”, and YouTube shows around 70 characters of a title in search. Put your hook and keywords at the very start.
Frequently asked questions
How many hashtags should I use?
Instagram allows up to 30, but a handful of highly relevant hashtags usually works better than many generic ones.
Do emojis count as one character?
This counter counts each emoji as one character. Some platforms, such as X, count certain emojis as two, so leave a little room near the limit.
