How PPF interest works
PPF interest is compounded yearly and credited at the end of each financial year. Deposits made by the 5th of April earn interest for the whole year, so depositing early in the year maximises returns. This calculator assumes one deposit at the start of every year.
Balanceyear = (Previous balance + Deposit) × (1 + rate)
