How to use the Days Supply Calculator

  1. Enter the number of tablets/capsules (or mL) you have.
  2. Enter the dose per intake and how many times a day.
  3. See how many days it lasts and the date it will run out.
  4. Or enter course days to find the total quantity needed.

Formula

Days supply = Quantity ÷ (Dose per intake × Times per day)
Quantity needed = Dose × Times per day × Days

Example: 60 tablets, 1 tablet twice a day → 60 ÷ 2 = 30 days.

Tips for caregivers

  • Reorder a few days before the run-out date to avoid missed doses.
  • Use our medicine timetable approach: write each dose time on the strip or a chart.
  • Never change a dose without asking the prescribing doctor.
